Education
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, with a minor in criminal justice and human relations (GPA 3.89). I Also have a Master of Science degree in personality/social psychology. I am currently a fourth year PhD student in a personality/social psychology program.
Experience
I have taught an undergraduate level social psychology/sociology course with impeccable teacher ratings. I have also published numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts, served as a peer-reviewer for social scientific journals and kept a professional news blog about advances in social science. I will also be teaching an undergraduate course, this summer, on Research Methodology. Within my lab I am required to design psychological experiments, program them, carry them out, analyze the resulting data, and publish the results. Therefore, I have a strong knowledge of research methods, statistics, and writing (particularly APA style). Not only have I performed these activities, but, as the senior member of my lab, I have also done a fair amount of teaching of these activities. I want to tutor a) to earn extra income, b) gain practical experience for my career, and c) because I gain a sense of accomplishment when I have helped someone to better understand a concept.
